Residency

Residency is a series that explores the transformational power of shared artistic spaces.

Open House (2026)

Open House is a 100% merino wool sculpture celebrating the transmission of knowledge and inspiration between artists. It was created after I attended an open studio day for Interwoven, a residency taking place at the Gibraltar Point Centre for the Arts on Toronto Island. It is approximately 12.5 inches tall, 8 inches wide, and 5 inches deep.

Open House has green shapes on the front of the piece representing teaching and learning amongst peers, and a subtle triangular grid of bumps on the back symbolizing deeply embedded or embodied knowledge.

As the neck of the piece is open and there is no bottom, Open House can be placed over a jar to hold one or two fresh or dried flower stems if desired.

Open House will be shown at the Intangible Experiences show at Propeller Art Gallery in Toronto from March 25 to April 12, 2026. The opening reception will be on Saturday, March 28 from 2 to 5 p.m., and the artist talks will be on Sunday, April 12 at 2 p.m.

It can currently be purchased through the show for $250 CDN plus shipping (free pick-up available from the gallery April 12).

Bloom (2026)

Bloom is a 100% Corriedale wool sculpture that is approximately 9” x 12” x 6”.

Bloom was created as part of a 4-week wet felting course at the Toronto School of Art. For each Sunday in March for 4 weeks in a row, my classmates and I made our way in the early morning through snow, sleet, rain, and cold to spend the whole day together, refining our skills. This piece marks the joyful “blooming” of artists over a period of time together.
