I’m a multidisciplinary artist, and I live with my beautiful wife and our two sweet cats in Toronto, Canada. I’m nonbinary and use they/them pronouns.

My artistic practice currently focuses on hand-building ceramics, felting merino wool, free-form embroidering, and creating mixed-media paintings.

I’m always curious about what a piece may be trying to communicate, and I aim to give myself enough space to follow interesting threads as they emerge.

I share in-progress work and artistic experiments on my Instagram at max.perit. I would be delighted to explore creating or exhibiting work with others in Toronto. Feel free to reach out to me on my Contact page or through Instagram!

Education and Memberships

I have completed art-related courses, workshops, and webinars with the Toronto School of Art (Madi Schmidt), Olive Branch Pottery (Ji Choi) , Pam De Groot, Anikó Boros, Helen Dardik, Laura Horn, and Kim Knoll.

I have a Masters degree in Information Studies and work as a research librarian. Just as in my artistic practice, I spend my time figuring out what questions we may be trying to ask and how best to answer them.

I am a member of Toronto Potters and Craft Ontario.

Exhibitions

My merino wool piece Open House was part of the Intangible Experiences show at Propeller Art Gallery in Toronto from March 25 to April 12, 2026.
